Levels of Study
At Preschool of Cambridge College, we develop the skills and strengths of our little ones by giving them the opportunity to be one step ahead in education.
Our children take the curriculum of the United Kingdom so all their subjects are given in English.
We have three courses, Early Years (Nidito), Foundation (Pre-Kinder) and Year 1 (Kinder).
Each classroom is equipped to receive 36 students, in each we have 3 teachers who assist them and accompany them in the learning process.
The subjects that are taught in preschool are mathematics, English phonetics, English, fine motor skills, art, music, computing, gross motor skills, morals, social sciences, and natural sciences.
In Preschool we work creating a fun and positive atmosphere encouraging the independence of children, strengthening values and principles for a comprehensive education that is essential to start the school stage and preparing them to achieve in the upper grades the requirements of Cambridge International.
We empower children's skills from an early age respecting the learning process, without underestimating the intelligence of children to achieve success inculcating, in addition, the love for culture, and creating awareness for our environment.
The students of Primary, in the first years are in an emotional and academic stage different from the students of superior primary. They are learning the basic concepts of language and mathematics, which are the foundations of the other subjects.
The division of the primary school into two levels allows for greater attention to the specific needs of each group. Each coordinator can specialize in their area and ensure that the emotional, social, moral and academic development of the students is carried out.
Cambridge College Primary School, offers an English based education, which covers both the British and Bolivian curriculum. In Primary we cover a variety of subjects, Math, Science, Social Studies and Computer studies to name a few, the foremost being English, that is taught as a second language. All of these subjects are taught as a continuation, leading to major exams in Middle and High School.
All classes that are taught, focus on discipline and values, this is known as the Knights Program, in which children are rewarded throughout the year, leading up to a final certificate. They also start participating in the community service program activities reinforcing what children are taught at home.
Students are also encouraged to learn about the Bolivian culture though a yearly presentation of Departments known as the Plurinational Fair, this is an learning event that the children really excel in. We also work with the Bolivian Education Authorities to comply with the social productive project, which promotes a healthy lifestyle, and the Plurinational games which promotes sportsmanship and social cohesion.
Our English as a second language program prepares students for their first major exam in English the KET, Key English Test this is available to year 6 students. This basic-level qualification is a great test to take if you're new to learning English. The exam tests all four English language skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking, is proof of their ability to use English to communicate in simple situations.
Cambridge College Middle School`s British-Bolivian curriculum prepares students for future success based on high-quality teaching English as a second language, principles, and values, developing life skills to become socially exceptional beings in our community.
Cambridge College Middle School offers subjects such as Business and advanced ICT, which introduces young learners to skills for their further studies and the working world. Giving students a taste of Business opens awareness to how our economy is established and how much hard work is involved.
Our institution also seeks to motivate the arts by preparing two internationally renowned plays a year; cast including Middle School students. Students are not only involved in the acting, but also in its production and organization; participating in fundraising for props, costumes, and location.
Our Middle School English teachers prepare students for their second international English exam (PET). This exam certifies that our students have acquired the basic English language skills in reading, writing and listening for everyday use.
Middle School complies with the PSP (Socio-Productive Project) and the Plurinational games (in sports) which are projects required by the Bolivian Educational System to promote healthy eating habits and national unity, despite social classes and regional differences. Our students continue with the Community Service Program and become more involved in the planning process of the activities.
High standards in discipline and values are a priority for Middle School students in Cambridge College to shape non-discriminating, cooperative and respectful human beings.
As our students advance in grade, the agenda becomes more demanding and students begin to focus more on the subjects of their choice. Each branch offers a wide range of subjects that are focused on their future university options and will open the doors to a promising future.

The English Department consists of highly experienced and highly motivated teachers. They are adept, enthusiastic and motivated. As a team, the English teachers are collaborative and strive towards the same goals.
Benefits of learning English at Cambridge College:
Cambridge College offers some of the highest standards of English testing. The KET, PET, FCE and CAE exams are internationally recognized exams that afford our students the opportunity to study and work abroad. The certificates the students receive upon passing the exams are useful and last a lifetime.
KET an A2 Key qualification is proof of your ability to use English to communicate in simple situations. The exam tests all four English language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking.
PET a B1 Preliminary qualification shows that you have mastered the basics of English and now have practical language skills for everyday use.
FCE B2 First is a test of all areas of language ability.
CAE C1 Advanced is a thorough test of all areas of language ability and shows the certificate’s holder’s ability to use English as a native speaker.
The Mathematics department at Cambridge College is composed of 4 staff members highly qualified for preparing our students for the international exams.
The aim of our teachers is to balance knowledge, understanding, and skills in the math programmes and qualifications to enable students to become effective learners and to provide a solid mathematical foundation for their continuing educational journey.
Teachers at Cambridge College prepare the students for international examination such as IGCSE and AS level which are greatly recognized by a wide variety of Universities around the world. Though out the years the students have been achieving better results making the math department proud.
The department is comprised of The Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry), and The Natural Sciences (Biology and Environmental Science – Geography) with 6 members of staff in middle and high school.
The department is well organized, well equipped and offers experienced specialty teachers in each subject area, headed by Mr. Simon Ward who has 22 years’ experience, 12 of which with Cambridge College. All staff has delegated roles within the department with affords its smooth running and open communication channels at all times.
Positive working environment (pastoral work)
The departmental staff has worked closely together now for a number of years and work with an open door policy that provides help and support for both staff and students and provides the benefits of continuity of teaching and backing whenever needed. Students often come simply to chat and share their worries/concerns fostering good student-staff relationships, and builds trust and respect.
The department prides itself on developing students’ practical skills that help aid and abet their theoretical understanding – ensuring the students are better prepared for theoretical examinations and further studies. Creating a science laboratory that can accommodate a wide range of practical lessons across all science disciplines is central to improving and expanding students’ understanding of the principles.

The department provides an environment of learning that impacts the academic progress of students. A high level of natural light is particularly important in science classrooms, with a well-lit room central to accurately reading the results of practical experiments. Natural light also offers a number of wellness benefits to the students and faculty alike. Nicely decorated with interesting and informative posters and projects.

The department has three fully equipped laboratories that meet Cambridge standards of learning and safety. Students take safety classes in year 7 and year 10 (refresher) to ensure each understands the correct use of the equipment and required behaviour in the labs.
The Science department prepares students for International exams in each of the three subject areas (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics), and has had excellent results that provide our students with a solid foundation for their University studies. In the future, we wish to offer the full A level in each of the sciences which would allow students direct entry to the UK and other European universities. The success of the department is clearly shown in the large number of students that pursue a career in the sciences year after year, and is a credit to all the staff members in the department who dedicate so much time and effort to open as many doors and opportunities as possible for our students to further their studies and build career paths.
ICT (Computing) & Business Department
The department offers a broad and excellent curriculum for 3 international test (Business IGCSE, ICT IGCSE, Computer Science IGCSE (Coming soon)).
The department has a great staff of highly trained professionals that offer a great learning environment focusing on practical and theoretical learning of the student.
Business students will have an understanding of business activity in the public and private sectors, and the importance of innovation and change.
Learners find out how the major types of business organization are established, financed and run, and how their activities are regulated. Factors influencing business decision-making are also considered, as are the essential values of cooperation and interdependence.
The ICT –Computer Science students will develop an understanding of the implications of technology in society, including social, economic and ethical uses and awareness of the ways ICT can help in the home, learning and work environments they will develop their understanding of the main principles of problem-solving using computers.
They can apply their understanding to develop computer-based solutions to problems using algorithms and a high-level programming language.
Learners also develop a range of technical skills, as well as being able to effectively test and evaluate computing solutions realizing various robotics projects and experiment bought in and out of class.

Having the knowledge of any of the subjects will give them an advantage in the future depending on the career that they will select if they want to follow an engineering career they will benefit highly from ICT-Computer science Class or if they want to follow a Social Career they will benefit highly from Business class that why they have the choice to focus on a specific subject.
Who is in charge?
For ICT-computer science class we have Mr. Israel M. Sejas Crespo he is a telecommunications engineer Mr. Sejas is a highly trained professionals that offer a great learning environment focusing on practical and theoretical learning of the student he has 8 years of teaching experience and various courses and actualizations in the subject like Circuits and electronics and Computer Science bough taken in MIT (Massachusetts Institute of technology) Boston USA and many more.
For Business Studies we have Ms. Sisi Sobrino who is Graduated in Commerce, with more than 6 years’ experience in sales, a business owner. She is a Google for Education certified teacher that conducts her classes on an almost paperless learning environment, implementing new programs for empowering students with life skills, future skills, and soft skills. Ms. Sobrino is a highly trained professional that offers a project based learning system, focusing on current events and taking Senior students to participate in entrepreneurial contests.
Social Science Department
The Department of Social Sciences at Cambridge College includes the subjects of History, Bolivian History, and Global Perspectives. The teachers are, Adinde Schoorl, Betty Monasterio and Paul Bailey. As a team, we are all involved in different projects throughout the year. For instance, we teach, follow and discuss the case of Bolivia and the recuperation of its access to the Pacific Ocean with the ICJ in The Hague or teach about important Bolivian dates and historical events such as the 6th of August.
The Socials Department prepares the students for the IGCSE history exam and with global perspectives, they also discuss important issues that appear in the news, events such as the civil war in Syria, the migration issues, US Elections and so on.
They are involved in preparing and organizing the MUN conference and in the last three years, Cambridge teams have participated in MUN conferences in Argentina and Uruguay. The Social Studies Department is composed of three teachers from distinct backgrounds and culture, yet they all share a similar goal; educating students by broadening their horizons and allowing them to see our past as a road to the future.
There is a lot of material to work in and out of the classroom. The Spanish area also has the IGCSE tests and the History of Bolivia subject in Spanish. Some of the teachers have years of experience as teachers and as directors of other schools, which allows them to learn about laws and educational resolutions.
There is good communication between the members of the group.
In middle and High school we are organized in a single block of the building which allows a greater flow of communication between the members.

University Preparation Department
Cambridge College aims to build future leaders and that is why amongst we have implement the subject of University Preparation to our curriculum.
We are the only school to offer such a subject that has been a great success. Taught to students of Year 12 and 13 in this class, they receive proper orientation on the process of application, research tools, financial aid, CV development as well as being visited by more than 20 national and international universities throughout the year.
Most importantly, students receive one-to-one interview with our university counselor, which helps to better orientate our students in deciding what and where to study their future career as well as putting them in direct contact with universities or recruiters. We also assist in their CV development, career orientation, and financial aid/ scholarship research and application.
Our aim is to aid our students, to open up doors for them and help them on their journeys so that they are all Success Stories that parents, peers, and teachers can look up to.
